Must thank Ken Kirk for putting together this Excell spreadsheet with information about lifts. I have made minor changes to the list to show the lift manufacturer, whenever possible, rather than a reseller. We welcome your comments, changes, and updates to this file.
Western Manufacturing, of Marshalltown, Iowa, is the grandaddy of motorcycle lift manufacturers. But several years ago, they changed their name to Handy Industries, LLC and continued to call their product the

This is the lift found in most motorcycle shops around the US, and in my own shop. It's a versatile workhorse, and now comes with lots of options, and recently, optional colors. Unfortunately, a California company picked up the 'Western Manufacturing' name, and makes a carbon copy of the Handy Lift. In fact, many of the lifts for sale look to be carbon copies of the Handy Lift.
Industries Incorporated, of Anaheim, CA, makes an interesting line of space saving trailers and lifts. Most of their products, when not in use, can be rolled up against the back or side wall in your garage and stood up on end, taking up very little space.
is a Ft Worth, Texas company which manufactures a line of automobile, truck, and motorcycle lifts. Their Pro Park 7 lift is handy for those who have a high ceiling, but lack floor space. Lifts similar to this are common in older cities in Europe which have severly limited parking space. It's common to drive into the basement of a McDonalds, for instance, and find a row of two high or three high lifts similar to the Pro Park 7 doubling, or even tripling the number of basement parking spots available. Rotary also makes a similar line of storage lifts. Their cycle lifts do appear to be a copy of the Handy Lift.
is the California company which took over the name after W-M of Iowa changed to Handy Industries.
Here is a page by a satisfied owner of a Seally MC390 lift, made in England. If you go to the Seally website, you need to do a search by part number to find the little amount of information available on the lift.
is not well known amoung motorcycle lift users, but is certainly the best known name in automotive and truck lifts and parking solutions. For more information on Rotary, please contact Fernando Rubio at 800-640-5438.
Lift-Buddy makes or sells a line of lighter weight lifts. Use caution here is you have limited shop space. This lift, and other lifts of the same type, move a foot or more to the rear when you raise them. Better lifts, such as the Handy and its copies, move almost absolutely vertically when raising or lowering.
is an interesting lift made by
which is a company in Michigan. They have a variety of lifts, primarily for the Harley crowd, which seem to be more oriented toward washing and oil changes than toward heavy maintenance. A guy with two many motorcycles for his garage might find that having several "Easyroller" lifts might allow more bike to be stored in a small space.
offers a bargain basement lift for about $379, but is reported to be on sale several times a year for about $200, if you pick it up at Harbor Freight. Tom Cutter claims that if you only need to work on a bike occasionally, this lift is a steal. Others note that the front wheel vise is of very limited quality. This lift is reccommended only if you just can't justify the price of a Handy or other quality lift.
Please note that Greg Smith Equipment offers several versions of a sissors leg lift. Due to bad feedback we've been getting on this item, there is no link to that site.
